There are many stray kitties at this RV park and one, in particular, is noticeably friendlier: She doesn’t run off and hide like the other feral kitties. She will hang around and “talk” to you – even after she’s been fed. (Of course I feed her. Hellooo… rescuer of strays, here.)
But, wait! There's more...As many of you know, Pye doesn’t travel well. You may recall the time she destroyed her brand new (cloth) carrier in a howling fit a few years ago.

Everything is a lovely shade of bright green (from all the rain): the gently rolling hills dotted with farmhouses and silos, the tall trees with new foliage… much like The Emerald City in The Land of Oz must have looked like to Dorothy and Toto.

So now it’s late Sunday morning. I’m in the middle of small town America, somewhere in the Texas panhandle. After the sleepless night at WalMart and a second long day on small, bumpy country roads, I have made it only as far as Crosbyton, Texas.
