I’m sure most of you have heard of the TV show “Tanked,” where they build cool, often large, custom fish tanks for folks, usually celebrities, and the occasional business. The Tanked folks built a small one for the Perdido Key Visitors Center.
But, wait! There's more...If a cat is petrified and dead, was it scared to death?
(Ahahahaa! I crack me up!)
Seriously, folks, there’s a petrified (dead, not scared) cat in Pensacola. No, I’m not talking about Pye, my bi-polar feline companion for whom I occasionally consider finding a new home… she is alive and well and scratching the crap out of my furniture.
I am talking about a dead cat on display, no less, in a museum. Yup, right here in the good ol’ USA can you find such treasures at the local museum as a petrified (dead, not scared) cat on display.
But, wait! There's more...Fort Advanced Redoubt. Florida is full of old forts. Forts are old stuff. You all know I feel about old stuff.
Old stuff is cool and all, but if I’ve seen one fort, I’ve seen them all. I’ve seen a few of them now. They all look the same. But this one does have a moat and drawbridge.
In addition to watching the Blue Angels, there are many cool things to see and do, not the least of which is the National Naval Aviation Museum. The museum is massive and takes two to three hours to complete – and it’s free! Got to love the free.
But, wait! There's more...The sugar-white sand beaches are loaded with amazing sea shells, some as large as your palm, others the size of your thumb, the kind of shells you see for sale in souvenir shops. On the beach, they’re free for the digging. I recently got to dig for shells with a couple friends. I felt like a kid again, looking for perfect shell treasures, and running to my friends to show them my find.
