All I’ve Got Is A Giant Squirrel
Yup, that’s it, a giant squirrel.
It’s been a crappy month, to say the least. I’m usually not this melancholy for any length of time, but working 55+ hours a week, among other things, is taking a toll on me. I really want to move, but I can’t because this is where I have a job. Who’s life is this? I should be traveling and writing, not working 55+ hours a week.
I could whine to you all about a lot of things, and probably come up with a much better post, but I need something to make me smile today.
Ms. Pearl is it. I hope she makes you smile, too.
The Godzilla of Squirrels
In Cedar Creek, Texas, not far from the Smiley-faced Water Towers in Bastrop, is Mrs. Pearl, the Giant Squirrel.
Sitting in front of a pecan, candy, and gift shop, at 2626 Hwy 71 in Cedar Creek, is the World’s Largest Squirrel. Since this is Texas, land of pecans, she is clutching a pecan.
There is another giant squirrel in Sinton, Texas. I hope to have a photo of that one for you in the near future. It’s wearing a hat, and eating a praline. Who designs these things? That could be a fun job.
If Ms. Pearl, and the smiley-faced water towers didn’t make you smile, there’s always the video of Squirrel Obstacle Course I built last year. It’s always good for a chuckle.
Meanwhile, something has got to change. I’m actively looking to move to a new area so I’m off to buy a lottery ticket. Cross your fingers for me, folks. And picture me standing in from of a bunch of news cameras, holding one of those big cardboard checks representing the multi-million dollar prize I just won!
Big Squirrel.
LOL Your brevity is cracking me up, Capt Wilson!
