But, wait! There's more...Really, there is a town called Oatmeal in Texas Hill Country. No, I don’t know why they named the town after a breakfast cereal. And, not far from Oatmeal, there is a dinosaur in Bertram. I don’t know if she likes oats.
But, wait! There's more...Texas is fond of squirrels. Or perhaps they’re just fond of massive squirrel statues. (And giant beavers.) You may recall Mrs. Pearl, the Giant Squirrel in Cedar Creek. Well, she’s not the only large squirrel statue in south Texas. There’s another giant squirrel, this time in Sinton, Texas. Why? Because … But, wait! There’s more…
It’s a good thing I’ve become a teetotaler because Texas is full of tea… but it’s black tea. As in oil. My drink of choice happens to be tea made from leaves. But I’d be happy to have a property full of Texas tea.
But, wait! There's more...Why DID the chicken cross the road? Since arriving in the Texas countryside I’ve seen loose chickens scratchin’ and peckin’ in front yards. There can be anywhere from five to ten chickens at a time. They aren’t wild by any means, but they are true “free range” chickens.
But, wait! There's more...Scrap Art Cars in Beeville, Texas
Beeville is a cute town, just on the edge of the Eagle Ford Shale (the big area of land running diagonally across the middle of south central Texas where most of the oil and gas come from). There was a fantastic art car and scrap metal exhibit at the Beeville Art Museum almost a year ago (that there is the long overdue part).
But, wait! There's more...Mrs. Gordon must have had cold feet. Or not.
At first I thought these were bed pans, but they’re smaller than those I remember seeing years ago. They also seem to be missing the bottom portion, where you put the coal. Maybe these are a different type of bed pan?
Like door locks.
But, wait! There's more...…What it lacks in size, it makes up for in density, and random oddities. The place is full up to the high ceiling with — stuff. Stuff like shrunken heads and dressed fleas.
Last we left off with the two-headed goat and the shrunken heads. That’s a hard act to follow, no doubt. Perhaps I shouldn’t have lead with the heads. Oh well, too late now.

It would seem the Ingram-Bandera area has a thing for heads. Today I bring you a two-headed goat, and a couple shrunken heads, one of which is human. (If you’re squeamish you might want to read something else, like Cat-butt-tongue water or watch the bull castration video I made on a Texas ranch. On second thought, if you’re squeamish you probably stopped reading this blog a long time ago. Ok, never mind.)
