Soooo, this online store asked me if I would consider writing articles for them. It’s one of those online stores. You know, the kind that sells stuff your grandmother shouldn’t know about.
The kind of place some of you might shop at.
Probably.
Often.

Yes, it’s THAT kind of store. They sell adult toys and things, and they are considering adding a blog.

So, back to the conversation I was having with my friend…
My friend: “Who do you think buys more sex toys, men or women?” She quickly followed up with an answer to her question saying, with conviction, “Women.”
Me, quickly agreeing: “Yeah, I think you’re right.”
But then I thought about it for a minute.
Me: “You know, all of the toys I have were purchased by boyfriends. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a sex toy for myself. Lingerie, yes. But not toys.”
My friend: “I guess that’s true for me, too. The toys I have were purchased by my husband.”
This reminded me of a guest post I saw on another blog. (I tried to find the post, but can’t remember whose blog it was on – if it was yours please email me the url so I can link to it.) In this guest post the woman writer described her first adult toy purchase… she was encouraged by her husband. It was a charming story.
Score: Three women, um, recipients, and four men purchasers. Huh.
That men seem to be the majority purchasers of adult toys for women surprises me. At least that’s how it looks.
I always say it’s good to learn something new every day. Guess what folks? This appears to be it: Men buy more sex toys for women than women do.
So tell me, did you buy online or in a shop? Mine were from a mix of both.

Okay…..so, this is how much I love you. First off, who needs annonymity? That’s for chickens! Second, I had to get up and go check to look at the toys and do the checklist. So, with that said, here is the rundown:
None have been purchased online, but I did recently win one online from http://www.toywithme.com (who are currently running another contest for a We-Vibe)
One was purchased for me in a super seedy little porn shop at about 2am with my guy. That was a fun trip. (by fun, I mean “Wow you see some interesting people in surprisingly crowded porn shops at 2am in Louisville”)
I have two others, both purchased by me at seperate in home sex toy parties hosted by friends. These parties are the best. They are fun, relaxed, hands on, you usually are able to see most of the merchandise, have an informed company rep present to answer questions and you are hanging with friends.

You know about all the great stuff on the web! How do you find the time?!? (PS – I entered the We Vibe contest… and then realized it takes TWO to, um, enjoy. I’m a party of one these days so I’ll have to improvise!) The big store around here is very clean and well-lit. Probably closes by 9:00pm.
