For Ten Things Tuesday, I thought I’d give y’all some more important information. You know, ’cause I like you to leave this blog feeling like you got a little chuckle out of it and that you’re a little smarter for having come here.

And so you can say you come here to learn something. It’s kind of like when you say you read Playboy for the articles. Not that you do that.

Ten Things I Learned This Past Week

I learned…

1. I can wear my underwear inside out for half the day before I notice. As @CardsfanClay tweeted: ‘As long as they weren’t on the outside it’s fine.’ Good point.

2. Installing a right-click/copy prevention plugin is upsetting to some of my readers. I had no idea – I swear! I’ve turned off the right-click thingy. The text that used to pop up was my attempt at humor, I don’t actually check anyone’s IP address or send them to the blog police. And NO, I seriously don’t think my stuff is worth stealing, but the thieves aren’t picky, apparently. I saw some of their sites – and while they did steal some top-notch stuff, they also stole pure crap, like what you read here. Anyway, that’s probably why everyone’s stopped commenting on my site anymore. I’m sure it’s not my writing.

Ok, me either. I mean, really when did this start? Yesterday?

So, I got this from The Bloggess. She thinks Mashable might have made it up. I’m thinking she’s right. But really, do we need a holiday to post and tweet?

Hello my lovely Kernutties! You know how I’ve been teasing you all about something coming? Something I wanted to announce (something that maybe Mom and Dad wouldn’t be too excited about?) Well, you all have waited long enough!

What a wonderful week full of the Blogging Love! Two great fellow bloggers have linked to my blog! *fans face*

And Her Blogging Royal Highness, The Bloggess came to my site and commented on one of my posts! *swoon* I think I just got girl wood. (If you don’t know why I’m so turned on, well, you probably don’ t have a blog. Just imagine ROYALTY coming to your doorstep and leaving a note, k?)

We Say ‘Dude’ In These Here Parts

I’m fascinated by linguistics, especially the colloquialisms specific to a certain region. We all have them, and those little words can give an indication of where you grew up, or lived for many years.

Also when you grew up.

A friend is visiting from Minnesota. He’s never been to California so I’m showing him the sights. The other day I used the word ‘dude’ when relaying some meaningless important story to him.

Yes, maybe I’m a hopelessly outdated Californian, but that’s not the point.

He’s been here three weeks and I’m the first person who’s said ‘dude’ to him. WTF?

Ok, maybe that is the point.

Crap, I am hopelessly outdated. I had no idea I was that far behind the times.

Apparently they never say dude in Minnesota. They didn’t think we really did, either.

Oh.

He was so surprised to hear the word ‘dude’ that he actually stopped me in the middle of my awesome story y’all to say, “You just said ‘dude’!”

Me: *blink blink* (In my head, “And your point is..?”)

Him: “When joking around with my friends before I left Minnesota, I told them I was going to hear people in California say things like, ‘Surf’s up, dude’! I didn’t think I would actually hear it!” *laughs*

Me: “Uhhh…”

Workforced.com – This Office Doesn’t Work

People, I’ve found a fellow cube-dweller and sufferer of my cube-shaped bit of hell. My heart it full.

While stalking perusing one of my favorite blogs, Midget Man of Steel’s Mental Poo, I read his interview with Don Joe from Workforced.com. Comic GENIUS – both of them. Certifiable yes, but genius.

I trotted on over to Workforce.com, an office comedy blog, and immediately realized I had found a comrade: A fellow sufferer of the padded, square-shaped hell. We are not alone.

What he wrote about one of his colleagues bringing around their newborn brought tears of laughter to my eyes – Where The Son Doesn’t Shine.

The man is now on my Blogroll: Funnier Bloggers.
