Gnome Doors and Fairy Doors

After researching for this story about gnome homes and gardens in Pennsylvania, I was inspired to make gnome doors and fairy doors. And it just kind of took off from there. I love making them!

Each door is unique, and crafted with the owner (aka: gnome door custodian) in mind. Ranging from five to eight inches high, each door is individually hand cut (the arch, and the window), and then meticulously painted with five coats of paint still allowing the natural wood grain to show through, while also protecting the door from the elements. Details are added, such as door knobs, fancy hinges are drawn on (real brass hinges included with door), wood braces are attached on the back, and sometimes rhinestones and glitter are added for additional sparkle.

Below are a few of the doors I’ve made, and some “in the wild” (in my yard). If you are interested in learning more, or ordering doors, email me at MarketingSquirrel at gmail dot com.
