Atomic Batteries to Power, Turbines to Speed
Holy heart failure Batman! I joined an exercise Boot Camp.
In case you don’t know, Boot Camps are a hardcore outdoor exercise program where they run you backwards up hills, and make you do backwards pushups and a ton of squats and other evil stuff. There’s also a strict diet plan that doesn’t include sweets. They’ve set me up to fail.
I don’t know why I signed up. Really. The only thing I can figure is I was under the influence of an overdose of cold/flu medicine at the time.
I believe being “under the influence of cold medicine” is grounds for temporary insanity. Not that I necessarily qualify for the “temporary” part.
This particular Booty Camp is ten weeks long, and it started this past weekend. (I’m calling it “Booty” camp because it’s all about getting my booty in shape.) Needless to say, my booty was bringing up the rear of the booty camp. Thank goodness I wasn’t the very last booty, like I was six months ago. This time there were about 200 people so my odds were better.
“Before” photos were required. Mine are really awful looking – which is why I joined the Booty Camp. If I do well, I may share the “after” photos. Maybe… but they might be awful, too.
One of the first things I did this year was take Checkers for a walk… this is my attempt at “enriching her environment”. I’m not sure if there is any enriching of environments happening, but it felt good to do the following for once. What? You thought I walked her? No, no, no. There may be a leash between us, but she decides where we go and I just follow. I would make a good dog.
I’m really looking forward this new year! I was trying to think of a list of resolutions, but I kind of make them all year long. Along with the aforementioned goal to get in shape and lose 20 pounds, there are several other things I want to accomplish:
Do what scares me. Take the leap, make the move, grab the brass ring.
Get that motorhome and travel the country. Travel the world.
Take care of myself. Spoil me. Lose the weight. Get in shape. Meditate.
Be a giver. Pay it forward. Do random acts of kindness.
Spend more time with friends and family.
The new year is upon us my dear Kernutties. What are you going to do with it? What are your plans for the New Year?

Yikes…Boot camps scare the crap out of me. That said…Good luck and Godspeed! lol. I did the one doing what scares me. I’ve never been one to be in a relationship. Anything beyond 2 months was irksome in the past. But this year I met someone and not only had a regular relationship we got married in December. Yeah for me. It was very hard at first letting someone in but now I know it was the best decision ever. Happy New Year!
Yay for doing the scary thing! I almost ran off and got married a few weeks ago. I would love to have the Vegas wedding ala Britney Spears annulment 55 hours later).
Boot camp scares me, too.

I love the old series! Such campy fun! I just watched the old, full-length movie. As a kid I didn’t realize how funny the shows were.
Any cat I tried to walk would either lay on the ground like a limp rag or leap onto me with claws splayed. Glad to see you had better luck.
She lays on the ground if I want her to go in a different direction than she wants. It’s rather comical to watch us walking as evidenced by the many chuckling gawkers we get.
Let’s do it together. I’m going to lose thirty pounds by my next karate match on February 12th. I’ve already lost ten. I’ll be testing for my black belt this summer. I’ll be damned if I’m still carrying a gut after five years of killing myself.
Awesome! Wow – 20 pounds in one month??! Guys have it easy. I lost one pound in the last week. ONE. I RAN places. I never run.

I hope they’re bootylicious because all this exercising and dieting is exhausting. I found out I need to eat two to three times the grams of protein I was getting. Holy crap!
You know it! Philly is on the list! But, after the snow storms, k? This Cali gal doesn’t do 50 degrees well, let along 30’s and 40’s and snowy cold stuff.

Hooray for Bootay camp! I’m in my 2nd week of training so I’m feel’n ur sore muscles (figuratively)!!! Yeah, post that photo, b proud what you accomplished, plus u will have incentive to work harder!

Crazy bout the protein right… But the more lean protein u consume the less sugary carbs u crave to eat (I understand why doesn’t mean I always do it lol!)
